Epsilon Aurigae

Eclipsing binary star in the constellation Auriga. One of the pair is an ‘ordinary’ star, but the other seems to be an enormous distended object whose exact nature remains unknown. The period (time between eclipses) is 27 years, the longest of its kind. The last eclipse was in 1982–84.
