AcruxBrightest star in the constellation of Crux, marking one of the four points of the Southern Cross, and the 13th-brightest star in the night sky. It is a double star comprising two blue-white stars, and is 360 light years away from the Sun. Together with nearby Gacrux, it points towards the south celestial pole. |
