Altnikol, Johann Christoph (1719-1759)

German harpsichordist, organist, and composer. He was a pupil of Bach in Leipzig from 1744. Early in 1748 he was appointed organist at Niederwiesa near Greifenberg, and later the same year moved to Naumburg. He married Bach's daughter Elisabetha Juliane Frederica (1726-1781) in 1749. He is known primarily as a copyist of Bach's music.
