Alyn

Tributary of the River Dee, northeast Wales; length 58 km/36 mi. It rises near the village of Llandegla, south of Mold in Flintshire, and flows northwards and eastwards across the Cheshire Plain before joining the Dee just north of Wrexham. At Pont y Capel, the Alyn drains an area of about 227 sq km/88 sq mi. The highest point in the catchment area is 562 m/1,844 ft.
