Amahl and the Night Visitors

Opera in one act by Gian Carlo Menotti (libretto by the composer, after Hieronymus Bosch's painting The Adoration of the Magi), produced on NBC Television on 24 December 1951. It is the first opera especially written for television.

He sang the leading role in Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors in two productions for Fort Worth Opera and has also sung on concerts in Rome and Penne, Italy.
The two-time Pulitzer Prize winner was best known for his 1951 festive opera Amahl and the Night Visitors, the story of a disabled boy who meets the three wise men.
