Amara, Lucine (1927– )

US soprano. Her career began in California, and she made her New York Metropolitan Opera House debut in November 1950, on the opening night of Rudolf Bing's regime; she later sang there as Aida, Mimi, Donna Anna, and Eurydice. She appeared at Glyndebourne 1955–58, as Ariadne and Donna Elvira. She recorded Musetta with Beecham and Elsa with Leinsdorf.
