Amaranthaceae

Family of tropical and warm temperate plants, mainly herbaceous, with about 70 genera and 700 species. The flowers are usually small but may be aggregated into decorative spikes, for which some species are cultivated. Genera include Amaranthus, Celosia, and Iresine.
