Ambache, Diana (1948– )

English pianist and conductor. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London, and made her debut at the Purcell Room, London, in 1979. She founded and directed the Mozart Chamber Orchestra 1977–83, and the Ambache Chamber Orchestra in 1984. She undertook many tours of Europe, Africa, and the Far East in concertos by Mozart, Tailleferre, Dussek, Kozeluch, and Michael Haydn. In 1995 she initiated the three-year concert series Women of Note with the premiere of Clara Schumann's F minor Concertsatz (1847).
