Amendment, Tenth

    0.04 sec.

Amendment, Tenth

Amendment to the US Constitution regarding the rights of the states. It declares that any powers not expressly delegated to the federal government by the Constitution are reserved for the states or the people. Part of the Bill of Rights, it was ratified in 1791.

This amendment was intended to limit the powers of the national government. The actual powers reserved for the states, however, are unclear, and the amendment has been open to wide interpretation.
