Work for orchestra by Edgard Varèse; instruments include sleighbells, a steamboat whistle, and a hand siren as used by the New York Fire Department. It was composed 1918–22 and first performed in Philadelphia, USA, on 9 April 1926, conducted by Leopold Stokowski.
