Amersham

Market town in Buckinghamshire, England, 12 km/7 mi northeast of High Wycombe; population (2001) 11,300. It is situated on the edge of the Chiltern Hills. Its main industries include the manufacture of cosmetics, textile printing, food production, timber haulage, and chemical and pharmaceutical research and development.

Edmund Waller, the poet, was born at nearby Coleshill.
