    0.04 sec.

Amin, Mustafa (1914-1997)

Egyptian journalist and writer, considered one of the pioneers of Arab journalism. His criticism of Gamal Nasser's regime led to his arrest in 1965 and he was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1966, to be pardoned by Anwar Sadat in 1974.

He started his career by writing for magazines and later founded a weekly newspaper and publishing house Dar Akhbar al Yom in 1944. He wrote ‘First Class Prison’ and ‘Second Class Prison’ as accounts of his imprisonment for his political activities.
