Anaktuvuk Pass

Pass in the Endicott Mountains, in north-central Alaska, USA. It is situated to the west of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, and 233 km/145 mi north-northwest of Fairbanks. Now within the Gates of the Arctic National Park, it is said to have been an important passageway for early migration from Asia to North America. Anaktuvuk Pass city, in the North Slope Borough, is home to the few remaining Nunamint Eskimos; population (1990) 259.
