Anderson, Don Lynn (1933– )

US geophysicist and seismologist. Anderson became director of the Seismology Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology in 1967. His research is focused upon theoretical seismology and the structure and composition of the earth and planets. He has edited the periodical Physics of the Earth and Planetary Interiors. He was awarded the 1998 National Medal of Science.
