Andreoli, Giorgio (c. 1470–1553)

Italian potter. He was born at Intra on Lake Maggiore into a family from Pavia, but is famous for his association with the majolica works of Gubbio, where he was based from 1498. He held a monopoly in a distinctive ruby glaze, which is one of the most characteristic products of the Gubbio potteries.
