Andrews, Anthony (1948– )

English actor. His role as Sebastian Flyte in the 1981 television adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's Brideshead Revisited (1945) won him a BAFTA Best Actor award. Television movies and mini-series followed, such as Ivanhoe (1982), The War Lord (1991), and Danielle Steel's Jewels (1993).

His early career included costume dramas such as The Pallisers (1974), The Duchess of Duke Street (1976–77), and Upstairs, Downstairs (1975), and a starring role in the war drama Danger U.X.B. (1979). He also appeared in Mistress of Paradise (1981), The Scarlet Pimpernel (1983), Sparkling Cyanide (1983), A D (1985), and The Woman He Loved (1988).

Andrews was born in North London. His father was a music arranger for the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation).
