Andrews, Julie (1935– )English-born US actor and singer. She was the original Eliza Doolittle in the Broadway production of Lerner and Loewe's musical My Fair Lady (1956), and also appeared in their Camelot (1960). She is particularly associated with the hit film The Sound of Music (1965). A child performer with her mother and stepfather in British music halls, she first appeared in the USA in the Broadway production of the musical The Boy Friend (1954). Her other films include Mary Poppins (1964, Academy Award), Torn Curtain (1966), ‘10’ (1979), Victor/Victoria (1982), and A Fine Romance (1992).
