Andrews, Roy Chapman (1884–1960)

US zoologist. He is best known for his discovery of the oldest known mammals and extensive evidence of primitive human life in the central Asiatic plateau. He was the first to find fossilized dinosaur eggs, and the skull and other skeletal parts of the Baluchitherium, the largest known mammal.

Andrews proved central Asia to be one of the chief centres of the origin and distribution of reptilian and mammalian life.
