Anerio, Felice (c. 1560-1614)

Italian composer. He was a chorister in the papal chapel as a boy, later maestro di cappella at the English College in Rome, which he left for the service of Cardinal Aldobrandini. He was appointed composer to the papal chapel on the death of Palestrina in 1594, and commissioned to reform the Roman Gradual in 1611.
