Ankeny

Town in Polk County, central Iowa, USA; population (1998 est) 24,780. It is a residential suburb situated 13 km/8 mi north of Des Moines. Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary (1921) are both located here, as is a large John Deere farm machinery plant, which dates from 1947.
