Anolis

Genus of lizards belonging to the Iguanidae family, found only in tropical America and the adjacent islands. They are slender, active, and live in trees. The structure of their toe pads enables them to cross a smooth wall or ceiling, and to climb with great facility. Their skin changes colour in response to changes in temperature or to fear.
