Antarctic Convergence

Zone encircling Antarctica where cold northward-flowing waters of the Antarctic sink beneath the warmer waters of the sub-Antarctic. It extends across the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans between the 48th and 61st parallels, and separates areas of distinctive marine life and climate.
