Antigo

Town and administrative headquarters of Langlade County, north-central Wisconsin, USA; population (2000) 8,600. It is situated 42 km/26 mi northeast of Wausau, on headwaters of the Eau Claire River. It is a gateway to the northern Wisconsin forest and lake resorts. Processed cheese and other dairy goods are among the local products, and it serves as a distribution point for potatoes and maple syrup.
