Antiparos

Island in the Aegean Sea, off the east coast of Greece, belonging to the Cyclades group; population (1996 est) 700. Antiparos lies west of Paros, from which it is separated by a channel whose waters are considered dangerous. Vines and grain are grown and the island has deposits of zinc, lead, and iron. Tourism also contributes to the economy.

Antiparos has a fine cave with stalactites and stalagmites; it covers an area of about 9 m/30 ft × 30 m/98 ft and is about 25 m/82 ft high. It is difficult to access.
