Intravenous fluids and antipyretics were the mainstay of therapy.
Initial conventional treatment at home, with a combination of antipyretics, analgesics, and antibacterial therapy (oral penicillins) did not result in improvement; 5-9 days after the onset of symptoms, all patients were admitted to the hospital.
3 mg/kg or less, and included rigors, chills and mild fever that responded well to antipyretics and antihistamines.
