Antonacci, Anna Caterina (1961– )

Italian soprano. She studied at Bologna and sang Rosina at Arezzo, in 1986. She appeared as Elizabeth I in Maria Stuarda at Bari in 1989, and as Adalgisa and Fiordiligi elsewhere in Italy. Other Rossini roles include Dorliska, Semiramide, Ermione in the first UK performance of the opera (1992), and Elcia in the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, premiere of Mosè in Egitto (1994). She sang Ermione again at Glyndebourne in 1995. She is considered one of the most promising singers of her generation.
