Antrim Castle Gardens

Gardens on the outskirts of Antrim in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Antrim Castle, which was noted for its Caroline doorway and contents, including the Speaker's chair from the Dublin parliament, was severely damaged by fire in 1922 and not rebuilt. The extensive gardens remain, however, and are one of only two main examples of a Dutch-style garden in Ireland, the other being Kilruddery, County Wicklow. Antrim Castle and gardens were formerly in the possession of Sir Hugh Clotworthy who was an ancestor of the Earls of Massereene.
