Apollonius of Tyana

Apollonius of Tyana (lived 1st century AD)

Greek ascetic philosopher of the neo-Pythagorean school. He travelled in Babylonia and India, where he acquired a wide knowledge of oriental religions and philosophies, and taught at Ephesus. He was said to have had miraculous powers but claimed only that he could see the future.
