Apopka

Town in Orange County, central Florida, USA; population (1990) 13,500. It is situated 19 km/12 mi northwest of Orlando. Settled in 1856 on the site of a Seminole village, it is an agricultural centre, shipping local citrus fruits and houseplants, and has become a bedroom and retirement community.
