    0.05 sec.

Arányi, Jelly d' (1893–1966)

Hungarian-born British violinist. She made her debut in Vienna in 1909, and later became a British citizen and gave the London premieres of both Bartók's violin sonatas, with the composer (1922, 1923). Ravel's Tzigane and Vaughan Williams's Concerto Accademico are dedicated to her. She gave the first British performance of the Schumann concerto in 1938, after claiming that the composer had appeared to her in a dream with his neglected manuscript. She has done many concerts with her sister, Adila Fachiri.
