Aragall, Giacomo (1939– )

Spanish tenor. He made his debut in Venice in 1963, as Gaston in the first modern performance of Verdi's Jérusalem, and sang Romeo in Bellini's I Capuleti at La Scala in 1966. He appeared at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, in the same year, and at the New York Metropolitan Opera House in 1968, in both cases as the Duke of Mantua. Other roles included Alfredo, Cavaradossi, and Roland in Esclarmonde. He sang Don Carlos at Orange in 1990.
