Arapahoe County

County in north-central Colorado, USA; area 2,072 sq km/800 sq mi; population (1990) 391,500. It is bounded to the northwest by the city and county of Denver. Its administrative headquarters is Littleton. Its west portion is occupied by industrial and residential suburbs of Denver, including Aurora, Englewood, Sheridan, and Littleton. The rest of the county is sparsely populated and agricultural, primarily producing dairy products and wheat.
