Ararat

Town in Victoria, Australia, situated towards the western end of the Great Dividing Range, 203 km/126 mi northwest of Melbourne; population (1996) 6,890. It is the commercial centre for the region's wheat, wine, and wool trade.

Ararat is a former goldmining town, which developed during a gold rush which began in 1857.

It is just possible that this hill is Mount Ararat, and that Noah's Ark rested here, and he ate oysters and threw the shells overboard.
Even a little elevation makes a considerable difference, and perhaps if there be a survivor of the human race, he will again be found upon the summit of some Ararat.
So overboard he goes again, to hunt for another Ararat and find another quicksand.
