Arbaces (lived 8th/9th century BC)

Founder of the Median Empire about 830 BC, according to 5th-century BC Greek historian Ctesias; however, there are inscriptions of Sargon II of Assyria where mention is made of one Arbaku, a Median chief, in 713 BC.
