Arctostaphylos

Genus of evergreen shrubs of the heather family Ericaceae. A. uva-ursi, the bearberry, is native to Britain, northern Europe, northern Asia, and North America; it was once cultivated for uses in medicine, tanning, and dyeing. American species such as A. pungens, grown in gardens, are often known as manzanita.

Manzanita foliage is either emerald or, as in the case of Arctostaphylos ``John Dourley,'' bluish green.
I thought about the manzanita, particularly its small tree species, Arctostaphylos glauca.
