Ardemáns, Teodoro (1664–1726)

Spanish architect, painter, and sculptor, born in Madrid. He became chief designer for the royal works (an organization dealing with the design and building of royal palaces) in about 1702, working in a bold and polished baroque style. He was the first architect for La Granja, the royal palace near Segovia built in the 1720s.

He studied painting under Claudio Coello, and afterwards gave his time to mathematics and architecture.
