Argerich, Martha

Argerich, Martha (1941– )

Argentine pianist. She studied with Magaloff and Gulda, and won first prize at the Chopin International Competition in Warsaw, in 1965. Her London debut was in 1964. She is admired in Romantic repertory and in partnership with violinist Gidon Kremer.
