Argolis

Department of Greece in the northeast Peloponnese region; area 1,279 sq km/494 sq mi; population (1991 est) 97,300. Argolis is an agricultural area. Its main crops are tobacco, vegetables, and tomatoes. Lemons, oranges, and olives are grown on the fringes of the Argolis plain. The capital is Nafplio.

The California-bred is trained by Bob Baffert, who saddled last year's On Trust winner, Argolid.
