Ariodante

Opera by Handel (libretto by A Salvi, based on Ariosto's Orlando furioso, 1516), first produced at Covent Garden, London, England, on 8 January 1735. The plot describes how the lovers Ginevra and Ariodante are threatened by the evil Polinesso, who would have Ginevra for himself.
