Arlington Court

19th-century neo-Grecian house in Devon, England, 11 km/7 mi northeast of Barnstaple. It was built for John Chichester, whose family owned the estate from the 14th century. The house was bequeathed to the National Trust in 1949 by Rosalie Chichester, together with over 1200 ha/2964 acres of land, including three hamlets, thirteen farms, an animal sanctuary and a nature reserve.

The bequest also included interesting collections of costumes, pewter, 19th-century furniture, horse-drawn carriages (now displayed in the stables), model ships, and shells.

Shetland ponies and sheep graze in the park here.
