Armagnac

Deep-coloured brandy named after the district of Armagnac in Gascony, southwestern France, where it is produced.

Armagnac

Former district in southern France, a part of Gascony, now included in the département of Gers. It has rich, fertile soil, produces wine, and gives its name to a brandy (Armagnac). Its administrative centre was Auch.

There are two small wine-producing areas: Madiran (red) and Pacherenc du Vic-Biln (sweet white).
