Armstrong, Henry

Armstrong, Henry (1912–1988)

US boxer and minister. He was the only man to hold world titles at three different weights simultaneously. Between May and November 1938 he held the feather-, welter-, and lightweight titles. He retired in 1945 and became a Baptist minister and devoted himself to helping underprivileged young people through such organizations as Youthtown in Desert Wells, Arizona.
