Arona

Town in Piedmont region, northwestern Italy, at the southwest end of Lake Maggiore, which it serves as the terminus for boat traffic; population (1991) 15,500. There is a colossal copper statue of St Carlo Borromeo, who was born here.

He has become one of the most feared strikers in the sport by compiling wins over Kevin Randleman, Ricardo Arona, Igor Vovchanchyn and, most impressively, over current UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell en route to a career 25-6 record.
The site is at Arona, on the south-western slopes of Tenerife, far from the major tourist centres, with marvellous views of the mountain landscape and out over the sea.
Mauricio "Shogun" Rua is a mixed martial artist who won the PRIDE Fighting Championship Grand Prix 2005 by defeating first Quinton Jackson, then Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in the first two GP events, followed by Alistair Overeem and then Ricardo Arona in the same night at PRIDE Final Conflict 2005.
