Arroyo, Martina (1936– )

US soprano. She made her debut at Carnegie Hall, New York, in 1958, and sang in Europe 1963–65 before performing Aida at the New York Metropolitan Opera House in 1965. She later sang other Verdi roles, and Elsa and Donna Anna. She appeared at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, from 1968. She gave concert performances in Varèse and Dallapiccola, and gave the first performance of Stockhausen's Momente, in Cologne in 1962.
