Arundell, Dennis (1898-1988)

English actor, producer, and composer. He was educated at Cambridge, produced many operas and music plays, translated several Italian and French librettos, and wrote a book on Purcell (published in 1927). In Cambridge and London he produced the Fairy Queen, Semele, Káta Kabanová, and The Soldier's Tale. He taught at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, until 1974.
