Ash, Roy L(awrence) (1918– )

US corporate executive. Ash co-founded Electro-Dynamics Corporation with Charles B Thornton in 1953 and went on to buy Litton Industries in 1961. His financial acumen in acquiring high-technology companies turned Litton into one of the first modern international conglomerates. He was director of the US Office of Management and Budget 1972–75, and was head of the Addressograph-Multigraph Corporation 1975–81. In 2003 he endowed the Roy and Lila Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
