Ashi (352–427)

Jewish Talmudic scholar, born in Babylon. Ashi was president of the Academy of Sura, and collected all the Jewish laws, doctrine, and tradition into the Talmud of Babylon. His work was completed at the end of the 5th century by Rabina.
