Ashover

Village in Derbyshire, England, 10 km/6 mi southwest of Chesterfield in the valley of the River Amber; population (2001) 1,800. Its main industries are quarrying and agriculture. The 14th-century church has a spire 39 m/128 ft in height. The ruins of the Elizabethan manor house Eastwood Hall are nearby.
