Ashtead

Village in Surrey, England; population (2001) 5,700. It is situated between Epsom and Leatherhead. The remains of a Roman villa were discovered in Ashtead in the 1920s.

Tiles and bricks were made in Ashtead in Roman times, and continued to be manufactured here until the late 18th century.
