pawpaw

Small tree belonging to the custard-apple family, native to the eastern USA. It produces oblong fruits 13 cm/5 in long with yellowish edible flesh. The name ‘pawpaw’ is also used for the papaya. (Asimina triloba, family Annonaceae.)
